Ruth Broyde Sharone
Ruth Broyde Sharone is the creative force behind INTERFAITH: THE MUSICAL serving as composer, lyricist and librettist. Each song on her CD by the same name came to her during her daily meditative walks some five years ago and was a “gift from above.” Thus she emerged unexpectedly from the world of documentary film and journalism in order to write and produce this engaging, contemporary musical.
She considers INTERFAITH: THE MUSICAL her magnum opus because of her lifelong dedication to interfaith engagement and the pursuit of peace. “ Music is the most powerful tool available to reach people’s hearts and I fervently believe that music can break down barriers between people, cultures—even countries.”
Also an inspirational public speaker for peace-building, Ruth, has been honored internationally for her passionate interfaith activism and leadership. In 2007 Ruth Co-founded the Southern California Parliament of the World’s Religions and served as Co-Chair for 10 years.
She is the producer/director of God and Allah Need to Talk, a much- heralded film that has been screened across America and internationally.
Her interfaith memoir, MINEFIELDS & MIRACLES, received three literary awards and more than 30 testimonials from religious leaders around the world–including H.H. the Dalai Lama. Her book is considered a “primer” for interfaith engagement.Ruth was also invited to serve on the Martin Luther King Jr. Advisory Board of Morehouse College.
